    Colt M4A1 Fully Auto Machine Guns

    The M4A1 is a fully automatic variant of the M4 carbine – a shorter and lighter variant of the M16. It went into service in 1994 to replace the M16 in certain roles. The M4A1 trigger group operates on either Safe, Semi-Automatic, or Fully Automatic settings. Cartridges are the 5.56x45mm (.223) NATO cartridge that is magazine fed. Firing is achieved via a direct impingement gas operating system. It is primarily used by special operations.

    The M4A1 is fully automatic and incorporates an ambidextrous fire control selector. The weapon can be mounted with the M203A2 Grenade Launcher, M320A1 Grenade Launcher or the M26 Modular Accessory Shotgun System. Soldiers can add or remove accessories such as the laser rangefinder, infrared illuminator/pointer and thermal sights as the mission dictates without the use of special tools. The weapon has received many performance-based design improvements since its inception.

    Colt M4A1 Fully Auto Machine Guns.

    The Colt M4A1 carbine is the primary weapon used by SEAL operators. A shorter, more compact version of the M16A2 rifle, it was specially designed for U.S. Special Operations Forces.

    In 1994, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and the Navy developed the Special Operations Peculiar (SOPMOD) Colt M4A1 Accessory Kit to make this weapon exceptional in versatility, lethality, and effectiveness.

    The Colt M4A1 is a high-tech, multiple-use assault rifle that can be configured by the operator with multiple combinations of advanced optics, lasers and lighting systems for rapid and accurate target acquisition in daylight or at night.

    The Colt M4A1 fires in both semi- and automatic modes, and is effective for both close-in engagements and long-range targets.

    The M4A1 excels in close-quarters Battle and counter-terrorist operations.  It fires a high-velocity 5.56mm round, essential when taking on terrorists wearing body armor or bullet-proof vests.  This rifle can also be quickly and easily converted to a grenade launcher or shotgun.

    The M4A1 carbine is an improved variant of the original M4 meant for special operations purposes—some of the evident modifications include the fully-automatic trigger, replacing the burst-fire mechanism that the M4 inhibits for better consistency of each pull; and the removable carry handle.
