The Faxon Gunner profile combines two of the best performing profiles, the Government and Pencil. The Gunner profile utilizes the durable nature of the Government while the Pencil profile allows for reduced weight and improved maneuverability. The Gunner profile is ideal for limiting fatigue for long range sessions, training or hunting.
Faxon barrels are manufactured in-house from gun barrel quality bar stock and Match Series barrels start from 416-R in 5R rifling. 5R is a hybrid rifling with lands opposite grooves and offers reduced jacket deformation while increasing velocity and easy cleaning. These barrels are Nitride treated in and out while the extension is Nickel Teflon coated for added dry lubricity, corrosion resistance and tighter fit between the receiver for added accuracy.
