To provide maximum robustness and rigidity, the MCX SPEAR-LT’s handguard includes two additional screws that give maximum deflection capabilities, allowing more accessories to be mounted to the handguard without interfering with the rifle’s point-of-aim/point-of-impact.

The handguard is also lighter than previous generations, with a focus on ergonomics. The barrel, like the handguard, is less in weight but has a slightly broader shape, allowing for greater accuracy without adding excessive weight. The barrel is topped with a QD Flash Hider and features a patented Cluth-Lock mechanism for suppressor use.

Other features of the MCX SPEAR-LT include a newly designed lower receiver with fully ambidextrous controls, such as an M400 style bolt catch, and compatibility with conventional MCX and MCX VIRTUS uppers. Furthermore, the MCX SPEAR-LT’s trigger is the Matchlite Duo, but a firing pin latch in the bolt carrier allows for the use of any MCX trigger, including the AR15 style.
